BIO SNIPPET FOR STUART J. BROWN – Playwright, Author & Podcaster
Stuart J Brown (“Stu”) is an award-winning Connecticut playwright whose works have been staged in his home state as well as California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas, West Virginia, and via the British podcast, Theatrical Shenanigans. He’s written 10-Minute plays and full one-act plays.
He has written five full one-act plays. Lady Jigsaw received a staged reading at the Square One Theatre in Stratford, CT on July 10, 2025. It led the Chestnut Playhouse Theater’s 5th Annual Playwriting Festival on September 5, 2025, and received a showcase at the Hole in the Wall Theatre on June 27, 2026. His murder mystery, Conduct Unbecoming, will receive a staged reading at the Music Theatre of Connecticut on July 14, 2024, and will receive a showcase at the Hole in the Wall Theatre on November 14, 2026.
Stu is also a theater critic with the Outer Critics Circle and the President of the Connecticut Critics Circle. He operates the 24/7 streaming radio station, SoundsofBroadway.com, featuring the best from Off-Broadway, Broadway, and London stages.
BroadwayRadioPrograms.com is the home to his podcast “On Broadway” which interviews influential figures who have a passion for music and the stage. There are more than 400 episodes dating back to 2006.
He also posts reviews of NYC theater on his blog Stu on Broadway.
